Aries New Moon 2026: Fire, Focus, and Finding Your Strength

Welcome to the Aries New Moon 2026. The Aries New Moon is always a special one because Aries is the first sign of the zodiac. Yes, all New Moons are new beginnings. But Aries’s placement as the first of the twelve signs of the zodiac makes any Aries New Moon a particularly poignant and powerful new beginning. Especially for those with an Aries Sun or with strong Aries in their birth charts. But this year, with all the other astrological factors adding emphasis (no planets retrograde, the Year of the Fire Horse, the Saturn-Neptune conjunction, the five outer planets shifting from one sign to another), there is a lot more power available to you. Use it.

This year's Aries New Moon occurred this morning, April 17, at 4:52 AM Pacific time. Once again – in keeping with a trend we've been seeing for the better part of the last year - the Sun and the Moon are conjunct very, very late in the sign. Technically, there are 30° in a sign, and the further along in the sign you get, the higher the number, the stronger and the more intense the energy of the sign. For this New Moon, the conjunction is at 27° Aries. Use that, too.

This year’s New Moon is made even stronger by the presence of all the other planets and an asteroid in Aries. Count them. Seven out of the fifteen heavenly bodies I consider in a chart are all in the sign of Aries right now. Seriously. That's over half. At this time, you are blessed with epic amounts of strength – physically, materially, psychologically, and spiritually – to create the transformations you seek, and that this time of year is famous for.  As Aries is a cardinal, male, fire sign – and the first of each – you will invariably find yourself staring down the barrel of the archetypes of Aries, where they live in you, and where you will need a little help with their integration.

Ordinarily, the attributes of the astrological archetypes provide us with didactic illustrations of the exact qualities and vibrational tones necessary to skillfully navigate the issues of the season. If you play your cards right, the stellar activity of the great astrological clock in the sky provides you with more valuable insight and instruction than ever. The original archetypes of Aries were two: the divine male, and the warrior. Over time, the pioneer (some use synonyms like innovator and trailblazer) has become an archetype of Aries, as well. The logic behind it is infallible. Aries is characterized by regular demonstrations of valiant, valorous, action - as well as of mental, physical, and emotional strength and courage. At the Aries New Moon, we are always being asked to find where these archetypes live in us and to activate and actualize them at a whole new level. Those requests may seem more poignant and powerful now. It’s okay. Don't resist them.

I am also mindful that we are now in the second fiscal quarter of the year. And by the reckoning of the Wheel of the Year, we are about halfway in between the second and the third of the three planting festivals, Ostara (the Spring Equinox) and Beltane. In order to create the life you want in the world you want, you will need a lot of strength and courage – consistently. Ask your Gods, guides, guardians, angels, archangels, and ancestors to help you take the bold and decisive action you need in order to achieve the goals, intentions, and resolutions you set at the new year. And if you get stuck, call me.

We'll figure it out.
