Normally, the Taurus New Moon is a wonderful return to all the best things about being in a human body on this planet, especially in the spring. Taurus rules beauty and balance, harmony and love. Taurus rules nature and Earth Day. Taurus rules the divine feminine archetype and aspects of mothering and Mother's Day. Taurus rules aspects of fertility, the spring, and the sacred rituals of Beltane. Taurus rules teams and teambuilding, as well as aspects of leadership.
On the surface, this is all sweetness and light, sunshine and lollipops. Scratch the surface and, well, things get a little more intense. And this year, the more you dig, the more intense it can be. But whether you find gold or just a whole lotta dirt depends on you.
This time, the issue is the T-Square. Generically, a T-Square involves two planets in direct opposition to each other that both square a third planet, or, in this case, a planetary conjunction. This configuration forms a right triangle with legs of equal length. A T-Square is a poorly understood transit. It can either be very disruptive or very helpful, depending on what signs and planets are involved and on what you do with them.
In this case, the planetary and astrological energies involved are both very powerful and very entrenched. At one end of the hypotenuse, we have a volatile, angry Mars in the fiery, fixed, sign of Leo at 4°. Mars is opposing a relentlessly transformational, politically powerful Pluto at 3° of the fixed, revolutionary sign of Aquarius, which is anchoring the other end of the hypotenuse. Both of these are squaring—at equidistant right-angles to and threatening to launch like a rocket—the fixed, yet peace-loving Sun-Moon conjunction at 7° Taurus.
A word here about Mars and Pluto. Generically, any contact between these two firebrands have tended to skew towards incendiary and have resulted in major changes that feel like they are being forced upon you; like you have no choice. Specifically, Mars-Pluto oppositions are incredibly fraught. These oppositions happen about every 27 months. Their effects can range from simple discomfort to genuine instability to explosions of anger, violence, and destruction. Mars-Pluto oppositions are famous for being a factor in some of the most aggressive and irrational moments in human history, including 250 years ago when the American Revolutionary War erupted.
So. Change clearly need to happen now, and you have some important choices to make about how you want to experience it. If you do nothing, you are highly likely to experience yet another round of whatever your favorite methods of self-sabotage and self-victimization are. These energies will dominate your unconscious beliefs and behaviors, rendering you a veritable mystery to yourself and others. And not in a good way. If you can identify where these transits live in your chart and your life, if you can work with them and make them work for you, there is a massive opportunity to integrate, transform, harness, and astutely deploy some of the core pieces of your psyche and your soul.

Needless to say, this transit is going to show you where your anger, especially certain kinds of anger, is the bane of your existence. One is your anger at yourself for the ways and places where you sabotage yourself and where you allow others to victimize you. The other is your anger at politics, politicians, political players, political issues, and political situations. Yet another is the places where your inability to change in a constructive way makes your situation worse and not better.
On a good day, this transit could make you a much more astute, much more effective political player. Now keep in mind, you don't have to be active in local government for this to be a benefit for you. There are politics in every relationship and situation: from your neighbors and your neighborhood to your extended family, to whatever the heck is going on in your workplace these days. And then there is government and governing. The more you understand the definitions of personal power and the more you understand the game, the better you become at playing it, the more successful you are in your life, and the happier you are in it.
I get it. Nobody wants to see the proverbial sausage being made. Nobody wants to know how it’s being made. But on the other hand, what you resist persists. Let’s figure out how to use the energy of this moment to help you to persevere at least a little more often, with at least a little more joy, ease, grace, glory, dignity, and some semblance of a sense of humor. You need a win, and I want you to have it.
This New Moon could mark a major turning point in terms of your personal power and sense of liberty. If you invest in yourself, you can have a new and better understanding of, a new and better ability to manage, and appropriately express your anger. Especially in political situations. Especially in and around the halls of power. Especially in your ability to be comfortable in the life you have chosen for yourself.

Ask your Gods, guides, guardians, angels, and ancestors to show you to how to better deal with the anger you have at yourself and others. Especially those in power or who you perceive to have power over you. Remember, depression is anger turned inward. Listen—really listen— to what your ancestors tell you to do. And then do it to the best of your ability. Remember, resistance is futile. Ask them to help you remember what you were thinking when you decided to reincarnate this time—and ask them to help you to lean in, loosen up, and be more of that person. For the sake of yourself and those that you love. And if you get stuck, call me.
We’ll figure it out.
