All new moons are a new beginning. The issue is always the question is always some version of “what kind of new beginning do we have this month?” The answer to that question is always a combination of factors. The first – and most important one – is the energy and the archetype of the sign. The second is the placement in the Wheel of the Year. And the third is the other astrological aspects. Tomorrow’s new moon is in Libra. But there is more.
Your karma and your dharma. Before you look at the astrological math of it, look at the context this moment sits in for you personally. Regardless of the astrological math, you also have to factor in your karma and your personal Hero’s Journey. Your karma and your dharma. Your karma is the biggest priorities you had in reincarnating this time. Your dharma is the daily disciplines by which you work it out. If you are not already familiar with yours, now would be a good time to find out. Seriously.
This year’s Libra new moon is on Saturday, October 10, 2026, 8:50 am. The Sun and Moon are conjunct at 17 degrees. Libra’s ruling planet – Venus – is retrograde in Scorpio, one of the rulers of karma and power. A retrograde Venus in Scorpio puts a lot more emphasis on these topics than normal. A lot. It is an object lesson in the Buddhist concept of right use of power. Successfully navigating this will require deep emotional and intellectual self-evaluation, and some intense shadow-work, as well as. Especially if you want to better understand and recalibrate your self-worth and the power dynamics your relationships.
Additionally, squares to Venus from both Pluto and Mars are intense, to say the least. Combined, they make your inner work, the current external situations that drive it, and the changes you can create, both non-negotiable and unavoidable. Breathe. Ground and lean in. There is more.

The Sun and Moon conjunct in Libra are opposing Saturn in Aries. Thankfully, this brings a sobering slowdown. It gives you time to think and make good – or at least better – choices. This transit asks you to be more patient and present than you had ever thought possible. It is. Additionally, this is a test of boundaries. The tension between pleasing others and maintaining personal autonomy can be excruciating. This will require courage, strength, discipline, and vision.
Ground yourself into that. You may or may not have noticed, but there are no planets in earth signs right now. Not a one. This is going to make regularly grounding yourself the single most important thing you can do for yourself on a daily basis. Ground in the attributes you want to express. Ground into the earth. Ground into your connection to spirit. Ground. Just ground. And then ground some more.

You have to make a lot of big decisions on the fly, right now. Decisions of great consequence. In as much as you can, make them from a calm, rational, grounded place. Ask your Gods and Goddesses, your guides and guardians, your angels, archangels, and ancestors to help you use this moment to develop the skills you need to answer the call of your Hero’s Journey. Ask the spirits of the land, sea, and sky, from where you live now, from the lands that are special to you, and the lands of your ancestors to guide your thoughts and your actions, your words and your deeds. And if you get stuck, call me.
We’ll figure it out.
