Taurus New Moon 2023

The Taurus New Moon 2023: Finding the Divine Feminine and Your Voice

Welcome to the Taurus new moon—and, thanks to our polycrisis, a brave new world that is evolving at a predictably unpredictable rate. Of course, all new moons represent opportunities for fresh starts and new beginnings, the key is knowing which opportunities to take. And making peace with them. Sometimes you have more options and opportunities than others; usually you have more than you realize. Let’s take a look at what yesterday's particularly relational, and values-driven New Moon has to offer. This New Moon does not offer you a lot of options, but the ones that exist are truly clear, extremely focused and – if you rise to them – will be very rewarding. As spring wanes and summer waxes, the possibilities, and opportunities to start over, to begin again are practically limitless in some extremely specific areas.

Part of this is because, as you can see, literally half the planets are in the sign of Taurus right now. Half. As big as it looks, it is even more significant than it appears on the surface. Seriously. So ground yourself, take a breath and let’s parse it out. First, look at the way the New Moon and the Sun are conjunct at 28° Taurus. Each sign only has 30 degrees in it, so it is believed that the further along into a sign anything is, the stronger the energy of the sign is, and the more influence the sign has on the planets in it. To have both the Sun and the Moon conjunct so late in Taurus makes Taurus all the more powerful. As the Sun rules your head and the Moon rules your heart, this provides a massive opportunity for there to be much greater integration between these two huge components of your psyche and your soul - components that can often seem to be at war with each other. Right now, they are not. Feel that. Feel into that. Let that greater integration raise your vibration, and make that new, higher vibration your new normal.

Next comes Uranus, who has been waltzing through Taurus since 2018. He is now at 19°, a little over halfway through the sign. Ruler of governments and governance, democracy and voting, revolutions and reform, change and technology, Uranus is not subtle and is demanding we make substantive changes in each of these areas, as well as in the values that they are based on. In particular, as Taurus rules the divine feminine archetype, we have no choice now but to change the way we define and exhibit our femininity, as well as the feminine face of power. Before Uranus leaves Taurus in 2026, if we have not done so by that time, we will be forced to create a world where women are truly equal. So let's get on that. Let's get on with that. We each have a role to play in that revolution – given the eclipses we’ve just had, your role is most likely a lot clearer, though it may not be more comfortable. Yet. Ask your Gods and Goddesses, guides and guardians, angels and ancestors to help you make peace with your role and your path and your karma with yourself, so you can be and feel more effective with all of it.

Next up, we have Mercury, the North Node and Jupiter in a tight stellium ranging from 6 degrees to 0 degrees Taurus. This is where things get interesting. Mercury rules communication, the North Node rules karma, so at its most basic, there are things you need to say that have needed to be said for lifetimes. So, there is more than a little pressure there. Your redemption is in the rest of the equation: Jupiter rules hope, and Taurus rules the grace, graciousness and love that is an essential part of communicating efficiently and effectively. These astrological energies make such crucial communications work so you can be your most authentic self. Taurus brings even more aid here, as it rules the throat, the throat chakra, the voice, and the vocal cords. Ask your Gods and Goddesses, guides and guardians, angels and ancestors to help you make peace with what you need to say and ask for help in saying what needs to be said.

Fortunately, Taurus is a fixed, earth sign. And as such, Taurus is a relatively simple energy. What it lacks in complexity, it makes up for in strength and focus. Taurus is also a feminine sign, but it is a wee bit more than that. Okay, A LOT more than that. Each sign represents an archetype, and the archetype of Taurus is the divine feminine, the Goddess. As such, the archetype of Taurus represents the spiritual concept that there exists a matriarchal, feminine counterpart to the patriarchal, masculine; there is a feminine aspect to the organizing forces of the universe that exists inside each human soul, it connects and binds us to each other as souls, it unites us as a species to the earth, and it unites us to everything that lies outside of our known world.

Ruled by the planet Venus, Taurus also represents a couple of key concepts that are related to the divine feminine: values and valuables, beauty, harmony, pleasure, and our relationships with others. All relationships: our significant other, our parents, our kids, our friends and family, clients and colleagues, friends, and neighbors. With so many planets here, it is virtually impossible to look elsewhere, right now. In terms of astrological math, the most rudimentary interpretation of this is that we all have massive opportunities – her and now - to heal whatever deep soul wounds we have around our femininity, women, the women that are the most important to us, women’s ways and wisdom, and the feminine face of power, and the public policies that most affect women. So be sure to be looking at all of yours, as well as those of the people that populate your various communities. There are profound changes you can make now within yourself, which will create great change around you. And if you get stuck, call me.

We’ll figure it out.

Everybody’s natal (birth) chart is different. These differences reflect our individual souls—their journeys and evolution, their triumphs, and their tragic flaws. As such, the specific impact of each of the following dates will hit each person differently. But there are some general themes.

Holy days, holidays, and astrological transits are opportunities for us to experience grace. But remember how grace happens: sometimes it comes through discomfort. The gifts aren’t always immediately apparent. All of the days on this list ask you to be more compassionate with yourself and others, to try and be more awake, and to be more open to synchronicity and messages from Spirit. On days when more than one astrological event, holiday or holy day occurs, know that the power of that day will be even more profound. The more events in a day, the more powerful that day is, and the more intentional you should be.

Again, in general, full moons are a good time for ending things, wrapping things up, conclusions, and closure. New moons are opportune times for new beginnings: starting a new chapter of some aspect of your life, tackling a new project, or launching something new. Retrogrades are always about slowing down and paying more attention to aspects of your creative, spiritual, and social lives. The eclipses always reveal; sometimes it is something others have hidden from you, sometimes it is things you have hidden from yourself. Usually, it is a little bit of both. To go deeper, look to the planetary signs and the houses they fall in, and, of course, to your natal chart. Or give me a call. I can help you with that.

Retreats, Rituals, Services, Ceremonies, and Journeys
Choosing the best day or days for your event is a very personal thing. You have to feel your way into it. But there are some generic rules that can help you in your decision-making process. Full moons and new moons are considered the best. Holidays and holy days are as well. Full moons and new moons that occur during or over a period of holidays and holy days are extraordinarily powerful.

Factor in a retrograde or two and you pretty much cannot avoid leveling up and becoming a much more masterful magician. Especially around anything that has to do with your faith, your trust in it, your ability to serve your faith and serve with it. Seriously.

With that in mind, your best days in the next month for deep, transformational experiences are the following: May 19-21, 29; June 3, 5, 10-11, and 17-18.
